Shri Chakra and Lalita Chakra: The Twin Powers of Divine Manifestation

In Sahaja Yoga, the subtle system of energy channels and chakras is not only a map of our inner being — it’s a living mechanism of spiritual evolution. Among the lesser-known but profoundly significant aspects are the Shri Chakra and Lalita Chakra, located on the right and left shoulders, respectively.

These two chakras represent the dynamic feminine powers of Mahasaraswati (right side) and Mahakali (left side). The Shri Chakra governs our physical and mental activity, while the Lalita Chakra channels emotional depth and spiritual protection. Together, they orchestrate the horizontal movement of energy, manifesting the world around us through vibrations and subtle permutations.

Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi emphasized that these chakras are not just symbolic — they are functional energy centers that activate when the Kundalini rises. Once awakened, they help us transmit healing vibrations through our hands, enabling spontaneous balance and transformation. The angularities of these chakras create unique vibrational patterns, much like rotating prisms casting divine light.

Importantly, Shri Mataji advised practitioners to respect and protect these chakras physically — for example, by keeping the shoulder area covered during meditation or singing, to preserve their subtle power.

In essence, the Shri and Lalita Chakras are gateways to creative manifestation and spiritual integration. They remind us that true yoga is not just vertical ascent but also horizontal harmony — a dance of divine energies within and around us.
